Scotlands finest band from the 80's with the powerful anti war song written by Stuart Adamson at the time of the Falklands War. The lyrics are a very moving and astute observation of war, any war not just the Falklands.Needless to say Stuart Adamson was a man of peace and a humanitarian who created a totally unique sound with the rest of Big Country, they made the guitars sound like Bagpipes which is clearly a nod to their Celtic roots, sometimes dismissed as a pop band, they were deeper than that, revered by U2 amongst many of their peers as a major band of substance. Stuart sadly took his own life in 2001.have a listen to this song on you tube, and as it said on my copy of John Lennons Instant Karma-- PLAY LOUD !!

6' 8'' McCoy inspired Bonzer

I hated this board when i first rode it, couldnt get to grips with it, but after playing around with the fin i now love it's a keeper.I had a McCoy this shape double winger swallow when i lived in Sydney in 1980/81 a really good board,but the mind boggled at how that shape would go with the BONZER advantage,as i say it's a keeper cos it really goes well. I know Tim Stafford {just bonzers} blog has made a few McCoy nugget inspired BONZERS which work really good, check his blog he's a real craftsman and free thinker and a Gentleman to boot. As the title says beach clean between 11am and 1pm @ K-Bay!. We all use this spot so we're going to help clean the old girl up.We have a new local SAS rep in Steve Trewelha and we need to give him our support in his first venture, Plans are afoot to do Broad Bench and Worbarrow Bay in the spring, Steve is well aware of the ABBA/SAS Broad Bench campaign to get better access to this CLASSIC surf spot, so the clean up will show how much we care about our environment. No Excuses!!!

This was something i'd wanted to try for a while, i liked the merrick template but not the "thruster" set up. Malcolm shaped it up for me and i really like it.The board is really loose and has a lightweight centre fin, i would say i've ridden this board the least of all my bonzers due to fitness mainly,but now i'm in the mood for it again!, its been out on loan a lot and everyone loves it so now its my turn.!

My 7' 12'' EGG shaped in cornwall last year by Malcolm, i've wanted one for a while now and it hasnt dissapointed!.It has more rocker than a normal EGG and very trim rails, it really manouvers and catches everything hence the name! when i mince down to the beach with it, an audible groan can be heard from the line-up as they know their days are numbered wave wise!

Great shot of my old freind CHOPS on his 8'0'' platypus square of the bottom,He's "done" a bit of weight he tells me and is obviously back ripping! Chops also is a bonzer advocate and has been for years he made me this Bonzer in the pics,which is a 7'6'' and a magic board. At the time i was riding short thrusters and my surfing in those days was off the bottom of the top and getting monotous,i talked to chops about getting a Bonzer semi gun so i could draw more lines and this is the result,it went ace i used it for years and finally a mate begged me to sell it to him and i did,many years later he gave me a go on it and i was hooked again and bought it back! im gonna use it again soon cos its ace. The only down side to this line drawing experiment is i have now lost the knack of going off the lip?!.
